A Winter View, a simple love poem

A winter view

A winter view

A Winter View, a simple love poem

Warm within these solid walls

We gaze outside the window

At the subtle winter view

Rolling out before us

Expanding softly to the horizon

Fading into pale notes.

There is no black and white

Only shades of grey

A pencil drawing

A muted melody of lines

The river

The trees

The mountains

The sky

Harmonizing together as one

A dance in concert of earth and air

Simple and subdued

Calming and complete

As unfinished without each other

As I am without you.

  1. I like this a lot, I can see you sitting in the cabin. Might I suggest changing “subtle” with another word like “quiet”?

  3. Thanks, Floyd! Me too. But we’re lucky to have the wonderful in-laws as well.
